Ontario Anti-Corruption Fund

Ontario’s Integrity Commissioner, and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the RCMP have shown over and over that they will roll over and let Ontario politicians, government officials and lobbyists off in corruption cases.

Ontario’s Integrity Commissioner, and the OPP Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners, all lack independence because they are all appointed by Premier Doug Ford and his PC party Cabinet. This makes the them vulnerable to political interference and influence.  A fully independent anti-corruption police force is needed to ensure effective, non-partisan enforcement.

Democracy Watch has been digging for the past few years into key anti-corruption investigations in Ontario, and with your support will continue to push for full disclosure of investigation records in cases of alleged corruption, and for effective, public enforcement of anti-corruption laws in every case.

  1. Private prosecutions in corruption cases when the OPP, RCMP and other police forces let off Ontario politicians, government officials and lobbyists, including applying for court approval:
  2. a)  To prosecute Doug Ford PC Party government officials involved in the Greenbelt scandal, which DWatch believes the evidence shows should be ruled on by a court considering breach of trust charges;

    b)  other future Ontario corruption cases.

  1. Ongoing pressure efforts to ensure Ontario’s Integrity Commissioner enforces Ontario’s anti-corruption laws strictly and strongly which the Commissioner has failed to do dozens of times in the past (Click here to see details and click here to see more criticism from DWatch).
  1. Democracy Watch’s ongoing campaign to establish new, fully independent Ontario anti-corruption police force, and for other key changes to ensure fair, effective, non-partisan law enforcement in Ontario.
