Federal government partially closes loophole after ex-Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe used public funds to pay party staff

OTTAWA — Parliament has closed a loophole that allowed former Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe to escape without punishment last year after he was found to have inappropriately paid political party staff with taxpayer-funded parliamentary resources.
