You have a right to know how much of your money the Harper Conservative government has wasted on dishonest ads that promote the Conservative Party!

How much of your money has been wasted on Conservative government ads that promote the Conservatives?
The Harper Conservative government has spent an estimated $750 million of the public’s money on advertising since 2006.

Some of the ads have made clearly false claims, others (like the TV ads currently running during NHL playoff hockey games) have been about proposed government programs that don’t exist, and others have essentially been ads for the Conservative Party.  An audit by the federal Auditor General will determine just how much of your money the Conservatives have wasted on these ads.

Can this waste of your money be stopped?
In Ontario, the Auditor General has the power to audit government advertising leading up to each election and can stop any ad that promotes the party in power.  A first step to stopping the Conservatives wasting the public’s money on ads that are dishonest propaganda for the Conservative Party is to have the Auditor General audit the ads.

Prime Minister Harper can stop wasting your money on these ads right away, and can also change the law to give the federal Auditor General the power to stop any government ad that is false, wasteful or propaganda for the party in power.

Please send your letter now calling on the Auditor General to audit the Conservative government’s ads, and calling on PM Harper to come clean and stop these dishonest, wasteful ads.
